🔹 What is Tircepatide?
Tircepatide is a new generation of injectable medicine for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is dually active – it acts on two natural hormones (GLP-1 and GIP), which are usually released in the body after a meal. Thanks to this action:

It stimulates the release of insulin when blood sugar is high.

It suppresses the release of glucagon (a hormone that increases sugar).

It delays the emptying of the stomach and creates a feeling of satiety.

It promotes weight loss in many patients.

The medicine is available in the form of pre-filled pens intended for subcutaneous injection once a week.

🔹 What is it used for?

Tircepatide is used in adult patients with:

❌ Not used to treat type 1 diabetes or in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis.

🔹 How to use Tircepatide?

✅ Before injection:

Wash your hands.

Check the name of the medicine and the expiration date.

Always use a new needle.

Follow the instructions for preparing the pen.

✅ Where and when to inject:

Once a week, preferably on the same day.

Subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.

Can be administered regardless of whether you have eaten.

Rotate injection sites to avoid skin irritation.

📍 Important: Your doctor will determine the starting dose and possible gradual increases. Never change the dose yourself.

❓ What to do if…

🔸 Miss a dose

If less than 4 days have passed – inject the dose as soon as possible.

If more than 4 days have passed – skip it and wait for the next scheduled dose.

Do not inject a double dose to make up for it.

🔸 Inject too much

Nausea, vomiting, low blood sugar may occur.

Seek immediate medical attention.

⚠️ Possible side effects

📉 Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) – especially if used together with other antidiabetic medicines such as insulin or sulfonylureas.
Symptoms: sweating, trembling, hunger, palpitations, dizziness, confusion.

📍 Most common reactions:

Nausea

Vomiting

Diarrhea or constipation

Reduced appetite

Mild discomfort at the injection site

📍 Less common reactions:

Increased heart rate

Allergic reactions (itching, rash, swelling)

Dehydration (if there is severe diarrhea or vomiting)

🧊 How to store Tircepatide?

Unopened pens: in a refrigerator at 2–8°C, away from the freezer.

Never freeze!

After first use: can be kept for up to 4 weeks at room temperature (up to 30°C).

Store pens away from sunlight and heat.

If you have frequent episodes of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.
